Montana Travel Campaign

The Southwest region in Montana encompasses some of the state’s most iconic landscapes and towns. However, it doesn’t contain either of Montana’s well-known trophies—Yellowstone or Glacier National Parks—and their commanding draw for tourists from around the globe. In an effort to capture visitors traveling between parks, we wanted to remind people there are things to see in this region too. Montana has a rich mining and ranching history found in the region’s colorful towns like Butte and Dillon, or the dusty ghost towns of Bannack and Virginia City. Southwest Montana is also a birdwatcher’s paradise with 316 of the state’s 428 bird species. Instead of using the ubiquitous travel photo approach, we took a different route, using collages with a retro look to mirror the area’s old-fashioned feel.
